FORGOTTEN FOREST                                                                       Christine Simpson 2025

Ancient woodlands primarily Oak, Pine and Birch were submerged by rising sea levels after the last Ice Age, leaving preserved tree stumps in intertidal zones.
Ireland has few forests due to centuries of deforestation; historically with large exports of timber to London after the Great Fire in 1666, agricultural expansion, population growth etc.
Today coastal development is a primary driver of the depletion and degradation of coastal forests.

EARTH MANDALAS                                                                          Christine Simpson 2025

"The artwork of Christine Simpson is very fresh and has an abundance of light and colour. The work shows a complex structure and flawless finish. The Photographs possess craftmanship, exquisitness and a true caring for our planet. The details continue to draw attention. We are charmed by the extravagance and almost surreal composition. This Rene Magritte in photo style."
