Christine Simpson merges photography and digital painting, drawing on nature and urban landscapes for her poignant compositions. Techniques involve crafting tableaus, extensive multi-shot photography, and sophisticated digital manipulation to create surreal scenes. Her art evokes a yearning for environmental harmony and reflects on humanity's impact, urging a reconciliation with the natural world. Christine Simpson came to Ireland in 1989. Shortly after her arrival, she secured a position as a Photography Lecturer on both the BA (Hons) Design Communications and BA (Hons) Art at Waterford Institute of Technology. Christine is a practicing Artist and Curator. She has worked with following galleries: Lisa Sharpe Contemporary Art in Bloomsbury, London; Artbridge, Mayfair, London; Out of the Blue, Florida and Carrie Neeley in Belfast; Gormley’s Fine Art Belfast and Dublin and most recently the So Editions Art gallery, Dublin. She has been an invited Artist at the Royal Hibernian Academy and her work has been shown in Ireland, Spain, Great Britain and New York (which includes the United Nations Headquarters). She has received numerous awards including: The Waterford Crystal Arts Award; a Gold Award from Graphis, New York; the Silken Photography Award, Brussels; and was shortlisted in the top ten for the Sony World Photography Awards. Christine’s work is in many private collections and she regularly undertakes commissions for art pieces and  commercial photographic  illustrations.
An important aspect of Christine’s life is her Curatorial work, in which she has worked in close association with Magnum Photos New York and the charity, Chernobyl Children’s Project.
Christine has curated exhibitions in New York, Dublin, London and Siena, on differing social issues.
